The best designs are rooted in who you are and what you value. That’s why one of the most important skills I bring to the table is listening with connection — truly hearing your wants and needs, frustrations and design desires.
From there, I design spaces that help you live your best life, curating a stylish and comfortable home -- your own haven filled with meaningful and beautiful moments. A home that brings a smile to your face each time you walk through the door and welcomes your family and friends in style.
Whether you’re looking for an expert to help curate a custom color palette, a design bestie to answer all of your questions, or a seasoned pro to manage your design and renovation from start to finish (my management system is tops!), I’m in your corner. When I’m not sourcing sconces and drafting design plans, you can find me floating in the pool, hiking in the woods with my dog, Millie, or sipping wine and laughing with girlfriends at Arrington Vineyards.
You know the saying, “Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life?” That’s me. I came to this career gradually, helping Karen (who’s my wife of 28 years) with project installations and lots of handyman work. After realizing how much I enjoy the creative and transformative process of home improvement, and seeing first hand the good it does in a person's life --- it occurred to us: maybe I should make this more than a helpful hobby.
So, I got my general contracting license and became an official member of Home by Hattan. I love renewing and improving your spaces — finding ways to add functionality, to open up floor plans, and to upgrade a home’s aesthetics while staying true to its architecture and character.
My previous career required excellent collaboration skills, out-of-the-box problem-solving, strategic planning, and a good listening ear — all skills I proudly bring to my role as your general contractor. I take immense pride in quality craftsmanship and love the looks on our clients’ faces when they see the transformation of their homes.
When I’m not on the job site, you can find me cleaning the pool for Karen to enjoy, giving the dog a bath after a hike, and carrying chairs up the hill at Arrington Vineyards. Oh yeah, and cheering on my beloved Texas A&M Aggies!

I contacted Karen to help me replace our outdated great room furniture, reupholster our dining room chairs, and provide suggestions for updating our office and powder room. From our first meeting, she came in with great ideas, provided suggestions and samples based on our traditional, casual style and was most helpful in narrowing our choices so the whole process was easily manageable. It is obvious that Karen takes a personal interest in each client. She is approachable, friendly and very easy to work with. There was nothing at all intimidating about the process and I would not hesitate to use Home by Hattan again.
